WILDCARD is a sustainable fashion label and ongoing art project founded by Sara Shaikh in New York City.
Built on the belief that discarded materials deserve a second life, every WILDCARD piece begins with upcycled clothing, deadstock textiles, or forgotten garments. Each design is transformed through an intentional, hands-on process that values craftsmanship over mass production and slow design over fast fashion
Everything behind WILDCARD is created independently, from concept development and garment construction to photography, creative direction, illustration, printing, and storytelling. The brand is an extension of a multidisciplinary creative practice where fashion, art, and film intersect.
Since launching in 2024, WILDCARD has been showcased through pop-ups and events across New York City, including the Bowery Hotel, Funny Pretty Nice, Artisan Flea, and other independent creative spaces. After graduating from Parsons School of Design, Sara has dedicated herself to growing WILDCARD into a full-time practice rooted in sustainability, experimentation, and community.
Beyond clothing, WILDCARD is about documenting the creative journey. Through film, photography, and long-form storytelling, the project explores what it means to build something with intention—from the first sketch to the finished garment.
At its core, WILDCARD exists to prove that old things can become something entirely new.
